Underground Exhilaration (aka U.E.) was founded by me, Miranda (Maz) Swann aka Ravinrahrah in the rave scene, and formed from the streaming site Stickam, where I started learning to DJ in March 2008.

I used Stickam as a tool to boost my confidence and to get used to playing in front of an audience, on camera, and also to get feedback on how I was doing. A lot of the friends I had met previously through networking and promotions started to come and listen to me, to see how I was getting on with the learning process I was going through.

Moving forwards 6 months to August and I had formed quite a crew of DJ’s on the Stickam website, who had also started using the site to promote themselves. As a result, we decided to form a new account on the Stickam site for a radio station called Underground Exhilaration. It meant we could go live and everyone could listen to us and watch us mixing.

How did the name Underground Exhilaration come about? Well having put on a past event called Future Exhilaration in August 2007, I took one half of my promotion’s name for the radio site and the rest of the Stickam DJ’s agreed on the other half of the name.

We stuck with using the free streaming sites until we found that we needed something a bit more professional without buffering issues and with a clean stream. With this move in September 2008, Underground Exhilaration’s official site was born!

The radio that is Underground Exhilaration is still going strong to this day, and with the masses and supporters truly behind the station it has undergone a fair few changes since that September.

Underground Exhilaration’s future is to be a fully professional site with professional administration and co-ordination. We are keen to recruit DJ’s with any level of mixing ability, we do not judge here, as long as you can hold a mix it’s all good in our book. We want our resident DJ’s and listeners to feel at home in chat with a friendly and happy vibe, from a warm and wonderful crew.

Most of the DJ’s who are on board with UE, plus the listeners we have here on U.E are all people I have met mostly when out raving or promoting my previous event.

Underground Exhilaration has the intention of holding events in the near future, with the resident DJ’s being first to play at them.  So watch this space, and you may be able to be part of the crew and meet us all very soon!
